This was such a cool and fun game I love your writing!!

This game has invaded my mind and refuses to leave. (I love it.)

I can't wait to uncover the mysteries in this game.

One of the being (spoiler alert ig):

What did Vincent say to the MC before the events of the game???

i just finished the demo and i can't wait for the next update :)))

(1 edit)

really enjoyable, optional storyline that determines your final ending, definetly would reccomend

a very entertaining game overall, the mc may be a guy but that doesnt make the game boring or unenjoyable

This game is seriously so good! Honestly, if it weren't for the "Demo" notice, I would've thought this was a finished game. Story-wise, there are so many questions that need to be answered. Exploration of the world and other characters relative to the story and especially the past ones are definitely needed for the official release!

I honestly didn't expect the characters to have so much depth into them, even the ones outside the main plot (MC & Love Interests) to be so interesting. This has me totally invested to learn their own personalities, possible motives, and their reaction to whatever scenario is presented.

It takes a more fresh take on the cilche trope of typical yanderes (which are often romanticized which leads to the neglect of the actual gravity of the situation) to a whole new level! It takes a more realistic approach to yanderes and how MCs/darlings should react in those situations. (I wish there was a happy romantic ending though...)

Without a doubt, this will certainly become one of the top visual novels once there is an official release of this. At least for me, it will be.

It is truly quite an experience, thank you so much to the Development Team as well as the Voice Cast for placing so much effort into this.

I hope it'll be available soon for everyone once it releases officially!!

bro i have so many question like
vincent's uncle
whats that redacted WORD ALONG THE near end of the demo
mc brother
mc's parents

Such a good game!!! Wish there were more choices of… compliance, y’know? Then again, I’d pity the MC for going through everything lol

Hi!! I have finished the demo recently. Haven't expected It'd be stuck in my head the time I started khkhkhk

I love how the game isn't just a usual bl-date-sim, love all the jokes, 4 walls breaking, how the main hero behaves himself etcetera. And I really loved the ending, and how you [spoiler ahead I guess] put the idea that yandere-like behaviour is not normal at all, and all these dudes need to go to therapist. I mean when the mc was shouting it to their faces, I went like oh yeah slay boy. And in the end they really decided to go for help, like? It's really cool, new and kinda modern? for me at least. Love the approach. And I'm glad you don't only not idolize yan-behaviour, but also telling the fact that it's sick.

I was thinking at the beginning of my way of this game that I'll end it soon and make it over with, but I got really involved in the plot and all things that was going on!!

Just wanted to say I'm liking the way this project is going in, however, waiting for the final version I guess? Keep it up? <З

[Warning: Long comment ahead!]

I downloaded the game yesterday, and I'm already in love with it. Despite I may or may not have sworn badly at the characters in some of the endings... The bag gifts mostly.

The concept of the game was amazing, and the use of metalanguage was very creative and funny. It was really well written, too. The comedy got me laughing, and the mystery got me hooked.

The art was lovely, and, as a background artist, I was mesmerized at how you merged the scenery elements with the flow of events. It added a lot of dynamic, as well as when the characters moved through the screen (I always laughed when someone popped out their head from the corner of the screen). I got 17/18 out of the CGs >:D (Which means a lot of deaths... Way too many of them in sequence before I found the existence of the guide (T▽T) ). I just couldn't get the last one yet.

I can't wait for the full game to release; good work for you guys!

I have not stopped thinking about this game since I finished it on Saturday(really, since I started playing Thursday). I'm so impressed with how you hint at what the other characters are thinking, even when the MC doesn't pick up on it(I love myself an unreliable narrator). I initially downloaded the game because I thought it was going to be just a parody game, but I got super invested instead. Even when I wasn't playing I was thinking about wanting to see the end.

I've never written a long comment on itch.io before, so I'm not sure where the cutoff is before it hides the rest under a keep reading button, so I'll add some space for (MAJOR) spoilers.

What really sucked me in was seeing how (or at least this is how I interpreted things,) Leon and Vincent slowly started changing from normal people with flaws(Leon's anger issues and Vincent's need for things to go his way, both of their possessiveness) to unnatural changes that make them scared of themselves. It made me pay special attention to everything they said and did, because I knew it wasn't going to be spelled out, which was fun. The moment I had the "realization" that Leon, Vincent, and Reme had completely different personalities from the original game, I knew I was in for a good time.

I also really liked how real the supposedly fake world was. The original main character had his own personality that everyone else is noticing how different the MC is acting from. And everyone had history with him too, even Vincent and Reme. It felt very "lived in." I had a feeling that the setting was more than just an exact replica of the original game, but "knew" for sure when the brother asked Leon if he had been talking to the MC late into the night, then Leon said that they actually hadn't been talking outside of school for a while. I wanted to hit my forehead, because I realized of course that would be weird. In real life best friends hang out lots after school and call/text at night, but since in visual novels the only interactions are scripted interactions at school, the MC wouldn't think it's "on the agenda" to keep contact with Leon after the bell. I had to second guess myself once again though at the unfinished room in the aquarium.

My best guess is that the setting is like if someone "breathed life" into the original game, with the limitations that the game originally had (like unfinished backgrounds and shadow npcs) but a fully realized world and characters that grew around the framework the original writing had. And it's directing the three LIs(maybe not including Reme?) onto the path of the story by changing their personalities gradually. I could be wrong, though!

And even though the MC's coworker(?) is only mentioned a few times, any time that he felt he was forgetting something or said something like "I still have something I want to do" I was SUPER curious. Especially since he's in promotional art for your game; afaik I have 100%-ed the demo and didn't see him much, so now I'm excited to see how he'll show up in the full version.

Even though I was making guesses and updating those guesses as to "what was going on" all throughout the story, I was still on my toes the whole time because I was never quite sure, so I couldn't tell what was going to happen next or what the choices would do. I saved before literally every choice, lol, if I remember correctly I have 10 pages of save files.

My favorite character was Leon. With all these things I talked about, I enjoyed seeing it the most with him, partially because he's got the most history with the original MC so the changes become most obvious when he's around. I also just like "gentle giants" (to whatever extent you could apply that term to him) who try to suppress their anger. He also felt like the most "realistic" character to me(although they all were good), I knew like at least three guys like him in high school. A lot of the smaller scenes that stuck out most to me involved him too, like when he dented the locker and failed to say "I'm happy for you" or got into a fistfight with his teammate. And my absolute favorite scene was when they rode the train home after he rescued him. I'm not sure if this was intentional, but I love the parallel of the MC falling asleep on the way to school earlier in the story, and Leon falling asleep in this scene.

Idk how to put it, but the way you focus on their personal problems that are more grounded in reality and not so easily romanticized is the main thing that made me appreciate this game. It especially showed in the survival ending.

Lastly, I just had a lot of fun and laughs! The meta humor landed for me. I actually laughed out loud at several parts, perhaps loudest on one of the later days when the interface started talking back to the MC using the choices menu.

I'm really looking forward to the full release! I'm sorry if the length is unusual or I said anything strange, I'm new to itch.io and don't know anything about commenting etiquette. Please take your time to make the best game you can while taking care of yourself.

Thank you so much for the long comment, they're definitely very loved on itch! So no worries, haha. I'm so glad you enjoyed the game and it makes really happy to see all the small details you picked out! Reading your comment really made my day, thank you so much!

WOAH the end of the survival ending shocked me.. I have so many questions!! O_O

alguien me ayuda a sacar los finales de leon no puedo sacarlos ya saque todos los de vicente ayuda pliiiis

¿Ya probaste la guía?

https://pumpkin-spike.itch.io/stuck-in-a-yandere-visual-novel-help/devlog/485810...

This game is so incredible the endings are really well done and scary (the brother ones) i cant wait for the full game!!

I love the concept and what you're doing here!!! It's very creative and very fun to play!

Tho the only thing that causes problem is the main character's sound effects, they sometimes don't fit the situations and are too loud compared to others

Other than that, awesome game! can't wait for the full release!!

(+5)

Agreed. The screaming happens a bit too often sometimes and it makes it hard for me to read what's happening because he's going 'Eeep eeep!' when the text is some long paragraph. Or he does a 6 second long 'ahhhh' which sounds like a 9 yr old boy rather than a near-adult teen lol It's very odd.
They obviously tried hard on this and I'm enjoying it but the voices don't fully match the characters and are used either too much or at awkward times.

The facial expressions on the other hand are fantastic!

I love this game but im having such a hard time trying to get leons bad end even with the guide

(+1)

That is because Leon is such a good boy... :D

Do you still need help? Which end specifically are you struggling with?

(+13)(-1)

I really like this game, but the main character's sound effects are some of the worst things I've ever heard. Too high-pitched and strained. I had to mute the game after a while.

The story itself is intriguing, and I like the art style and general aesthetics, but man, those voices...

İ CANT WAIIITTT

(+3)

Wow! This new demo is SUCH an expansion on the first, which I already loved! This is amazing, and I love it so much! Can't wait to see where the story goes!

IM SO EXCITED AAAAAAAA

(+4)

it's good but the noises/voices for the characters were getting annoying.

2.0 Yay!!

Love playing it!

(-1)

Will there be a android version?

Didn't notice the next vers. Hurah

(1 edit) (+1)

I loved the demo and how well the characters were written! Though my favorites definitely are the lil bro and Leon!

I absolutely cannot wait for the full game, I hope it comes out soon! Is there any specific year ( month or day) the full game's gonna come out? If so then I'll 100% make sure to play it! The whole game really got me interested!

Question ahead!! (spoilers)

Does the lil bro have any special dialogue if you get to the survival ending with 0 deaths? If so then I will totally try it out! :D

Oh! And will there be any good endings for Leon or Vicent ?

There's only a couple lines difference, there might be more differences in the full game ;)

I have some plans for good ends, but nothing is set in stone

I cannot wait for more updates. I love how Leon and Vincent act. Yanderes are truly amazing to see in videogames.

Realized I haven't commented my thoughts on the game yet, so here goes!

I really loved the demo! I'm a sucker for the 'character is isekaied into a romance-game' trope, and this game didn't disappoint! There was a good amount of comedy, horror and romance and I'm really excited to see more! Vincent is definitely my favorite, I don't think I've ever seen a yandere like him and I find him very interesting!

Also, it was so funny to see how the MC freaked out at certain points and how he couldn't figure out what his and his brother's names are xD The fact that he can actually see the visual novel UI is freaking hilarious as well, I love it.

Looking forward to the full release!

Mini Spoiler

One of my favorite scenes is definitely when he comforts Vincent without knowing it was him LMAO

(+1)

i mean if i saw the novel ui id also freak out

Hii, loved the new demo! I was playing the Demo 2.0, but while I was in the cafeteria part where Vincent has his breakdown I wanted to read the history because I skipped a dialogue and the png of Leon was still in, even in the settings part. Pic to show it. I think it might be a mistake or a bug. Hope to help! <3

Yes, that is a known issue I hope to fix in a coming update ^^; I'm sorry if it's distracting, but I'm researching a better way to do it!

(+1)

One does not simply ditch Leon for the log... Leon will find you.

(+2)

Love this game especially Vincent!

But i do wish the choices we are making are like how can i describe it "logical" as in that the choices we make actually feels like we develop a relationship with whatever person and not just kinda click on a choice that gives a different route. Sometimes it doesn't even make sense for me where exactly it's going when i pick X choice.

But regardless of that i still enjoy the game and if i didn't explain it good then tell me and i can make some examples ^^

I've only unlocked 1 ending so far but I am so excited to continue playing AND I am very, very intrigued as to who is behind the scenes pulling the strings and toying with the MC! Thank you for your hard work!

so good omg- the story, the designs, the characters *chefs kiss*, my only minor critique is that in the cgi's, the art style and characters features doesn't really stay consistent. but this is so good ughh-

WHYYY, THIS IS SO GOOOOD can't wait for the full game!

AAAA!! I absolutely love the demo so far,I'd love to play the full game!! <3

(1 edit) (+1)

super excited for the full game! But could do with a setting to wipe your progress, I'm really curious about what a certain character says when you go down a certain route with 0 deaths. I'm guessing that wiping the save folder in the files will do it?

(+1)

Yes, that will definitely be a feature to be included in the full game and any updates I do in between.

Unfortunately, wiping the save folder likely won't do it. I'm not sure if reinstall might work. I'll definitely update with the ability for the player to reset easily soon.

(+2)

On windows, you can wipe all your progress by deleting the save folder and then deleting the RoundedGUI-1623906174 folder, backup both folders first so you can restore your progress later.  You can find RoundedGUI-1623906174 by searching %appdata%, then going to the RenPy folder.

Hi~! I attempted to download the second part of the demo but for some reason an error occurs and it says: "Cannot read property build of undefined"

I'm not very technologically capable so I was wondering if you had any idea on why it would do that/how to fix it? Thank you!

edit: I uninstalled the initial demo and downloaded the 2.0 and I think that worked *thumbs up*

I'm glad it worked out!

Thanks for letting me know, I'll make a note of it in the game page.

I just finished the demo, and oh my goddess, i NEED to play the full version now! I'll be waiting! <3

(+1)

Playing this demo and I have to say the quality is AMAZING
I WILL be playing the full version! Keep it up <3

(+5)(-3)

bro idk why i like mah "Brother"

(+1)

Wow! I didn't know what to expect, but that was so fun! The MC's constant shrieking made me laugh! Is there a release date at all? :)
